A marine survey is an inspection of an entire vessel or any portion thereof as requested by the customer. A report of this inspection to the customer is a document containing the inspectors written findings of fact and, digital images of those findings where possible and appropriate.

Surveys are conducted per the mandatory standards promulgated by the U.S. Coast Guard under the authority of; Title 46 USC (United States Code), Title 33 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), Title 46 CFR, the voluntary standards and recommended practices developed by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), and the National Fire Protection Association(NFPA).

To assure speedy repairs of precision or, highly technical components at acceptable prices, repair jobs may be subcontracted by Simmons Marine Service to specialists with expertise in that specific area and experience repairing specific components.
